Clemson University Electrical Upgrade
Clemson University is the second largest university in student population in South Carolina. It sits on a 1,400 acre campus between the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains and Lake Hartwell. In 2109, Clemson began electrical upgrades to the entire campus. Atlas Surveying’s Greenville/ Spartanburg office was subcontracted by The Ryan Company to complete the survey work. A large part of the project is construction staking including baselines, steam and electric manholes, water, sewer, storm drains, walls, fences, parking lots, electric poles and transformers. Being primarily a land research university, Clemson was sure to include staking tree protection throughout campus. At the project is scheduled to be completed in 2020, at which time Atlas will survey the final electric duct bank, water, sewer and storm drain as- builts.
