Hilton Head National RV Resort
In 2020, the owners of Hilton Head National Golf Club announced plans to construct a 17-acre luxury RV resort on Hilton Head Island abutting an existing golf course. Bill Palmer, president of Scratch Golf, LLC, said they would be “incorporating many of the best aspects that luxury RV resort owners seem to prefer. There will also be a concierge level within the resort for those who see additional privacy and amenities.”
Atlas Surveying’s Savannah/Hilton Head office was contracted to perform surveying services for four phases of the project.
Under contract to J.H. Heirs Construction, LLC, Atlas verified control and staked silt fence, limits of disturbance, tree protection, force main, storm, sewer, and water. GPS control was set and utility as-builts for water, sewer, force main, storm, and new ponds were provided.
Under contract to Choate Construction Company, Atlas verified control and set benchmarks throughout the site and provided hub and tack for the clubhouse foundation, concierge building foundation, dog park building, gate house, tiki bar, amenity pool, pool deck, wet deck, pool planters, and spa. Pedestals, the pool deck, bridge points, pickle ball and basketball courts, fencing, the concierge pool, and the pool deck were staked. Foundation surveys were executed for the clubhouse, concierge, dog park building, and gate house building. A tree removal exhibit was provided as well as an elevation certificate and final as-builts.
Contracted to H.A. Sack, Atlas staked lights, transformers, pads, and electric meters. Tree surrounding the pool were staked for The Lindsay Company, LLC.
Hilton Head National RV Resort opened to the public in 2021 offering approximately 300 rental units with access to Wi-Fi, cable, basketball, bocce ball, and pickle ball courts, dog park, two miles of walking trails, golf cart rentals, fire pits, splash pad, private cabana rentals, arcade, shower facilities, retail store, restaurant and bar, and fitness center. The neighboring 18-hole golf course is also available to guests. Bill Palmer stated that he believes Hilton Head National RV Resort “will soon be among the top-rated recreational vehicle park East of the Mississippi because of its strategic location and wide number of preferred guest amenities.”
With an array of entertainment options inside the park and exciting attractions in the surrounding area, Hilton Head National RV Resort has quickly become a popular destination for vacationers on the South Carolina coast.
